Carlos Farruġia
Biography
Carlos Farrugia – Actor, director and producer in theater, television and cinema. Studied Drama at the Malta Drama Centre, Bronk Productions and Moving Arts in London. Sat for Trinity College examinations where he received Distinction and Merits Grade 6 to 8 – Acting Skills and Performance Arts. He attended Seminars in Brazil under the direction of Augusto Boal – founder of the Theater of the Oppressed. Master Classes on ‘Mime and Expressive Theater’ under the direction of Adam Darius and Kasimir Kolesnik (The Mime Center – Finland), Inclusive Theater Workshops in Scotland and Forum Theater in Luxembourg.
Carlos is the founder of the Freespirit Acting Studio and drama school.
Carlos has produced, directed and acted in several important theatrical projects including Lino Grech’s ‘L-Ikbar Sigriet’ at the University of Malta ,Hector Bruno’s ‘Meta gie jzurna Paul’, ‘Kristu fi Strada Stretta’, ‘Passjoni tad-Duluri’, ‘L-Iffissat t’Alla’, ‘Harsa ta’ Kristu’, ‘Hekk Alla jghini’ with Joseph Galea’ at Spazju Kreattiv, St.James Cavalier, Trevor Zahra’s ‘Xaghret Mewwija’ at Spazju Kreattiv and ‘Rajtha Fejsbuk’at the Manoel theatre.
Theatre Actor (Including) – King Lear, Suite 719, Much Ado about Nothing, Avanti, Habbilni ha Nirbah, Marti martek, Martek Marti at the Manoel Theatre. Il-Kappilan ta’ Malta and Faith, Hope u Charity – St.Elmo’s. ‘The Doctor and the Devils’ in Macerata, Italy.
Tv Actor (Including) – Ipokriti, It-Tfal jigu bil-vapuri, L-ispettur Lowell, Solitaire, Sahta fuq Uliedi, Ghada jisbah ukoll, Gizelle, Evangelisti, Miraklu, Inkwilini, Rifless, il-Patt, Emilja, Division 7, Game Over.
He directed ‘Angli – Kapitlu Gdid’ on TVM and won the award for best leading actor – Malta TV Awards for ‘Sergio’ in Gizelle.
